Each big city has its artist restaurant. Helsinki, Finland, has Elite, the living room for artists since 1932. Actors, writers and painters enjoy the artsy atmosphere. Artist, designer and founder of ArtElite visited her hometown, Helsinki in 2007 and the famous restaurant was the inspiration for her new company ArtElite, Designs to Inspire, a website that offers art and design elements that are stylish, smart and slightly snobbish with a European flair.

Leena Hannonen, founder of ArtElite LLC, is well known for her unusual digital fine art prints, paintings, sculptures, silver jewelry and original found-objects art.

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Leena’s dramatic flair is influenced by both Native American and African art. Combining her unique motifs with traditional Scandinavian feel, Leena’s creations have been shown in a number of Southern California art galleries.

Inspired by the introduction of the Macintosh computer in the early 1980’s, Leena connected with the creative potential of its graphic design capabilities. Upon her arrival in Los Angeles, Leena immediately opened her first design studio, fulfilling a childhood dream of creating innovative designs for corporate identities and marketing communications. After building a successful design firm, Leena continued experimenting with other art mediums including ceramics, photography, sculpture and silver jewelry.
